Caroline Taylor

Winner of the Marc-Aurel Prize at the 2025 International Haydn Competition and the Armitage Audience Prize at the 2025 Northern Aldborough Festival’s New Voices Competition with duo partner Sebastian Issler, Caroline  Taylor graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music with Distinction. Further successes include the Joyce and Michael Kennedy Strauss Award, the Emmy Destinn Award for Czech Song and Opera and the Off-West End Award for Opera Performance as the title role in Janacek’s The Cunning Little Vixen with HGOpera.

 

Praised for her “glittering soprano” (The Times), Caroline’s recent and future engagements include  Violetta La Traviata (Hurn Court Opera), Suor Genovieffa Suor Angelica (Dorset Opera Festival), Countess Le Nozze di Figaro (Cumbria Opera Festival) and Adina L’Elisir d’amore (Brunswick Vocal Arts), Vaughan Williams Dona nobis pacem, Mendelssohn Hymn of Praise (Lobgesang) and Fauré Requiem (Bath Abbey, Gavin Carr), Beethoven Symphony No. 9 (Stephen Threlfall) and her debut appearance at the Two Moors Festival alongside Nicky Spence and Roger Vignoles. In 2026/2027, Caroline returns to the Two Moors Festival and to the role of Countess in her European house debut.

 

Further credits include La Musica L’Orfeo (Longborough Festival Opera), Asteria Tamerlano (Grange Festival, Cambridge Handel Opera) and Lauretta Gianni Schicchi (RNCM Opera), recitals at the Royal Ballet and Opera with Fran Hills and Oxford International Song Festival with duo partner George Ireland and solo performances at the Wigmore Hall and St Martin in the Fields. Caroline is a City Music Foundation Artist and a Making Music UK Recommended Artist for 2025-2027.
