Laura Perešivana

Latvian soprano Laura Lolita Perešivana started her operatic journey when she was only eighteen years old covering Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi) at the Latvian National Opera House. Laura has joined the famed National Opera Studio in London for the 2021/22 season, received the Musicians’ Company Award as one of their Young Artists and was selected as a 2021 City Music Foundation Artist.

This past season, she was awarded Second Prize in the Kathleen Ferrier Awards and reached the semi-finals of the Paris Opera Competition.

After receiving her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Studies from Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London in 2019, Laura was awarded a scholarship to study at the Guildhall Opera School with Professor Janice Chapman. This year Laura was one of four finalists selected for the Guildhall School’s most prestigious music prize, The Gold Medal, as well as the recipient of the Musicians’ Company Award. Last summer, Laura performed as Berenice (L’occasione fa il ladro) with British Youth Opera at the Opera Holland Park with great success, with Opera Magazine describing ‘her tone pearly, her coloratura purling’.
Laura is a Georg Solti Accademia di Bel Canto alumna and has worked with conductor Richard Bonynge and La Scala coach James Vaughan.
