Ligeti Quartet featured on BBC Radio 3’s New Music Show

Tom Service hosted a special New Music Show concert at the Fire Station in Sunderland, featuring performances by exciting new music specialists including CMF Artists, Ligeti Quartet. They were joined by Distractfold ensemble, pianist Kate Ledger and turntablist Mariam Rezaei.

Music performed on the show included works by Anna Meredith, Sean Noonan, Katherine Norman, Michael Finnissy, Anna Korsun, and a new BBC commission from Mariam Rezaei for four turntables.

The Ligeti Quartet is dedicated to performing modern and contemporary music, commissioning new works, and engaging a diverse audience. Formed in 2010, they were united by their fascination with the music of György Ligeti, and have since established a reputation as leading exponents of new music.
