Connaught Brass on BBC Radio 3 this Christmas

Connaught Brass

Connaught Brass will take part in this year’s BBC Radio Christmas celebrations. The broadcaster promises that “this Christmas BBC Radio and BBC Sounds will delight listeners with a line up full of festive joy, magical stories and musical treats.”

Connaught Brass, 2021 City Music Foundation Artists, will take part in BBC Radio 3’s In Tune Christmas Special on Tuesday 20th December 2022. Sean Rafferty and Katie Derham will present the In Tune Christmas Special, live from The Radio Theatre at BBC Broadcasting House (apply for audience tickets here).

It’s going to be a Christmas party celebration like no other, where both presenters are joined by some of the show’s greatest performer friends including Connaught Brass, The Albion Quartet and the Icelandic-Chinese star bringing jazz to a new generation, Laufey.

You can listen live from 5pm on Tuesday 20th December, or catch up any time on BBC Sounds.

Connaught Brass are also performing in City Music Foundation’s lunchtime concert series, held in the Great Hall, Barts Heritage on Wednesday 14th December at 1pm. The ensemble will perform a programme of Rachmaninoff, Gershwin, Bach and more, plus readings of texts.

Tickets are free but need to be booked in advance online. Each ticket includes a complimentary mince pie.

A “thrilling young ensemble at the start of what is sure to be a major international career” (Great Birmingham Brass Fest), Connaught Brass are making a name for themselves as a fresh talent in the chamber music world.
