The EFG London Jazz Festival is making a third announcement today concerning its programme. The full programme launch event for with the programmes of all venues will be on 12 September.
As part of a commitment to creating a home for emerging UK artists, the festival’s Homegrown strand will be based out of cutting edge new venue Lower Third to provide a platform for exciting UK artists who defy genre, embracing the rich tapestry of cross-genre sounds that straddle jazz and its adjacent musical realms. The first announced amongst these are Alex Hitchcock & Ant Law’s Same Moon. Alex Hitchcock is a 2017 CMF Artist.
Alex Hitchcock is a London-born saxophonist and composer. As well as leading his own projects at venues such as Ronnie Scott’s, The Vortex, and The Royal Albert Hall, he plays as a sideman in various other bands including Resolution 88 and the Peter Whittingham Award-winning Patchwork Jazz Orchestra.
