Ensemble Hesperi have shared an updated on their recent and upcoming performances.
Mezzo soprano Rozanna Madylus, a 2020 CMF Artist has won the Audience Prize at Mastersingers’ Carole Rees Awards Wagner Voice Competition. The competition was held in Aldeburgh’s Jubilee Hall.
Writing on Facebook, Rozanna said “An early start after the premiere of ‘Peter Grimes’ at English National Opera yesterday evening… but rather serendipitously, the Mastersingers’ Carole Rees Awards Wagner Voice Competition final was held in Aldeburgh Jubilee Hall today – the town which inspired Britten’s epic opera! Delighted to have been awarded the Audience Prize.”
Described as having “an engaging stage presence” (The Daily Telegraph) and giving “compelling performances, offering fluid line and gripping conviction” (Opera Magazine), Rozanna Madylus is a graduate of The Royal Academy Opera School, where she was recipient of The Karaviotis Scholarship, The Sir Charles Mackerras Award and The Carr-Gregory Trust Award.
