Rozanna Madylus Wigmore Hall review
Soprano Rozanna Madylus’s recent performance (her professional debut) at Wigmore Hall with chamber ensemble Counterpoise has been reviewed in the Evening Standard. Brünnhilde’s Dream is a monodrama devised Barry Millington, co-director of Counterpoise centring on the Wagnerian character Brünhilde.
Writing in the London paper, Nick Kimberley said that “occasionally speaking in role between the songs, Madylus delivered with absolute commitment, her voice often shaking the rafters.”
Described as having “an engaging stage presence” (The Daily Telegraph) and giving “compelling performances, offering fluid line and gripping conviction” (Opera Magazine), Rozanna is a graduate of The Royal Academy Opera School, where she was recipient of The Karaviotis Scholarship, The Sir Charles Mackerras Award and The Carr-Gregory Trust Award.
