Schumann’s epic and best-loved song cycle Dichterliebe forms the centre of this recital by outstanding young tenor Richard Robbins, with Alexander Soares performing on piano. His performance also includes two works by Lili Boulanger whose untimely death in 1918 at the age of only 24, robbed the world of an astonishing talent.
This Friday Lunchtime Concert is programmed in partnership with St Martin in the Fields. Tickets for students and under 16s only £5.

Tenor Richard Robbins sings with ‘irresistible baritone softness’ according to Classical Source and has just been appointed a Young Artist for the City Music Foundation 2020-22.
Following his London debut at the Royal Festival Hall, Alexander Soares has garnered a reputation as a pianist who combines “huge intensity” (The Telegraph) with “diamond clarity and authority” (BBC Radio 3).
