Rye Arts Festival

Canadian saxophonist David Zucchi and Spanish accordionist Iñigo Mikeleiz-Borrade bring their dynamic music-making to Rye. Reflecting their unusual pairing of instruments and different cultural backgrounds, these award-winning musicians perform a wide range of repertoire, from reimagined traditional works to modern repertoire, including improvisation. You will hear pieces by Praetorius, Bach, Gershwin & Piazzolla.

Canadian saxophonist David Zucchi and Spanish accordionist Iñigo Mikeleiz-Berrade bring their dynamic music-making to Herne Hill. Reflecting their unusual pairing of instruments and different cultural backgrounds, these award-winning musicians perform a wide range of repertoire, from reimagined traditional works to modern repertoire, including improvisation.
Their dedication to generating new repertoire has resulted in commissions sponsored by the Nicholas Boas Charitable Trust and the Marchus Trust. Winners of the Royal Over-Seas League Annual Music Competition’s Mixed Ensemble Prize (2021) and the 2022 City Music Foundation Artists scheme, they have performed across the UK and Europe, appearing at Wigmore Hall, the Edinburgh Fringe, Newbury Spring Festival, Buxton International Festival, and St. Martin-in-the-Fields.
