5 stars for the Paddington Trio in Kings Place debut

The Paddington Trio’s debut at Kings Place in January received high praise from a review in the Guardian. Fiona Maddocks writes that the trio “play as one, hardly needing to refer to the music. That they lean in and bend towards each other need make no difference to their musicality: that very act can sometimes appear an affectation. Not here. They lived every note.”, appraising them a 5-star performance.

The trio return to Kings Place on Sunday 23rd of February as part of Chamber Studio’s 15th anniversary celebrations, joining Michael Collins to perform Olivier Messiaen’s masterpiece, Quartet for the End of Time.

Seen as the one of the most exciting chamber ensembles of their generation, the Paddington Trio won first prizes in the 70th Royal Over-Seas League Competition for Strings & Piano Ensemble, the 2024 Triomphe de l’Art International Competition, 2024 Storioni Concours, 2023 Parkhouse Award at Wigmore Hall, among others.
